Four-storey Bing image background drawn in person

Without a doubt, the person who picks’s background image of the day have one of the best jobs at Microsoft. Especially since they don’t have to actually draw the photo, unlike the two painters who are responsible for the huge four-storey high Bing billboard ad in Denver. This 3-minute long time lapse provided by Branded Cities shows off their handy work.

From what I can tell by the changes in lighting, it took these guys around 7 days to complete the massive replica of the homepage, photo, search box and links included. Assuming they only had just a small-scale reference image to work with, this is an impressive effort.

  1. My Bing image drawing background brings all the nerds to the yard, damn right its better than yours, damn right its better than yours, damn right its better than yours. I can teach you but I’ll have to charge.

Ah yes, the memories of competition trails all the way back to 1980 when we had competition to see who had the fastest computer out of the gang. Mine cost $10,387 at the time and it lost pitifully to the rest of the gang. I still have the painful memory scarred into my poor brain! At least we didn’t have the Windows vs Mac propaganda back then! Now that competition obviously didn’t come around until about 5 years later, but thats an entirely different story, which I’ll save for longzheng’s next blog entry!
