MIX11 group liveblog: day 2 keynote

Hi, welcome to day 1 of the MIX11 keynotes group liveblog with Ed Bott, Mary Jo Foley, Kip Kniskern, Rafael Rivera, Bob Stein, Paul Thurrott and I.

Today’s keynoters are Joe Belfiore, Microsoft corporate vice president for Windows Phone, and Scott Guthrie, corporate vice president for .NET developer platform, and the keynote is supposed to be largely focused on Windows Phone 7 and even a taste of the Kinect SDK.

  1. I thought it was a pretty great keynote. The Qantas app was an especially good demo. Reactions from the crowd were very enthousiastic on all the new dev stuff coming both for WP7 and Kinect, as well. Which is why it’s a shame to see you guys just sort of gloss over that in favor of yet another massive load of cynical bullshit. There’s a great WWT demo and all you guys can do is go “hur hur hypnotism”? Christ.

At least ditch Paul Thurrot already, he’s the worst offender by far. At least the rest of you occasionally add something of value to the conversation.
