I'm so glad to see this post here. I've been following your blog a lot and don't usually comment, but I love seeing Reddit on a post here :) If you'd ever be interested in an interview on my blog, definitely let me know. I'd love to have a post with you on there and I'm sure it would draw a lot of readers' attention.

Ask them how many noobtards work on the Explorer team?

"Bring back the old XP styled searches!!!"

yeah and bring back the old file name selection, NOT this fucking stupid 'name column' or 'full row' retard file selection. What sort of fucking dumbass would implement such a stupid method for a file system explorer when you're better off with more available empty space areas to drag/drop files, deselect etc etc. Fucking NOObs, and just make it hidden registry key to change aswel.. pff idiots and that was just a little thing.

And ask them if those retards bother checking the taskforce sites, and how much did they actually fucking do about any of it! Not that I need to know. They obviously get there customer feedback from lesser fucking noob testers like themselves.

Ok, one new feature I really want as my #1 priority is:

Bring back the old XP styled searches!!!

I HATE the Vista/7 search feature! I can search for a file directly in the folder it's in and Windows Vista/7 won't find it!!!
XP search never had that problem.
Great post Long!

Uh, SOMETHING AWFUL DOT COM is a terrible website, a great source of unintentional humor maybe but a terrible place to find interesting and informative posts. For one thing the mods and admins of this humor site forum have NO sense of humor at all! The place is as PC as you could believe but in the most frustrating, arbitrary manner you could think of. Ask/Tell is very funny for a look at what high functioning autists ask questions about (Tell me how to groom properly, Tell me how to talk to a girl, etc.).

Interesting links, definitely will give a read.

FYI SomethingAwful.com has had this Ask/Tell for quite some time, even a dedicated forum worth a look though not much technical stuff ever crops up.

If they're in the planning stage, I have some *major* feature requests for the next major Windows release:
- A complete full-featured low latency MIDI stack and API
- Something like OS X's Automator based on PowerShell or VBScript.
- A new proper WebDAV stack without bugs
