I wonder what this means for the (now AMD-owned) ATI Catalyst drivers. Under Windows XP, my ATI All-In-Wonder X800 XT video graphics card allowed my monitor to be pushed to its maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536, but now I'm stuck at 1600 x 1200 resolution (for the same card and monitor) under Vista (64-Bit). Additionally, the Catalyst center performs even less under Vista, with less features. There is currently NO TV/Capture features with any ATI video graphics cards under Vista (certainly not 64-Bit)--according to their own website. It's like buying a brand that does nothing, or doesn't do as advertised. If they don't fix this, they'll lose big time in this business. A card that has a built-in tuner such as the X800, and it can't even get cable TV going under Vista? C'mon. It's this kind of thing that will cause me to look at another video graphics card provider/company!

Did anyone ask why ATI (AMD) chose not to provide tuner drivers for some of their graphics cards? AMD seriously let me down, as a customer, over this.

I love the look on his face when he thinks to himself (Q2) "Long? Where have I heard that name before?"
And yes... I agree with you Marco. Two or three driver releases and XP will look like dog pooh.

vista drivers will have soon performance of xp drivers. well im not so sure about that statement. i wonder if the todays graphiccards (especially those in the notebooks) can even have the same performance as they have in xp. i think there will always be a discrepancy.
i guess this problem will be solved with newer generations of graphiccards, not the current ones.

what u guys think?
