Well mobicore f'd it up. The animations are too slow, and it's buggy.

First in poker an Ace can be high or low, for example you can have an Ace high straight (10,J,K,Q,A), or a "straight to the ace", and you can also have a straight in which the ace is low (A,2,3,4,5). In Mobicore's version, they failed to consider that the former is a possible straight, and it does not recognize a "straight to the ace", however it does recognize a low ace straight.

Also in other hands I've seen two of the computer players draw the same straight in which they only had different high cards, and the lower of the two won the pot.

For example both had 6,7,8,9,10, one had an A high card, the other had a J.

The Jack won the pot. So, either it has a problem determining high cards, or it has a problem with straights.

And the most pathetic thing about it, is that it doesn't seem very "ultimate extra, worthy" No online capability, minimally configurable, and a long pause at the end of each hand that you can not skip through. All in all I give it a 5 out of ten. Fix the bugs, and make it more configurable and you would have a very decent single player game.. But even then, a Player-vs-computer only poker game can't get more than a 6 in my book.

Try harder windows group, and stop tossing your friends a bone. Poor form. We deserve more.

Well as some Extras were released today.. It looks like both Oberon and Mobicore developed Hold'em. Oberon designed the background and the cards while Mobicore coded the game itself.

[...] Long Zheng has an article up about the Texas Hold ‘Em game that has been essentially confirmed as being available as a download for Windows Vista Ultimate as part of the Ultimate Extras package available as a bonus for buyers of the most expensive version of Windows. The big question Long tries to answer is who is developing the game for Microsoft, Oberon Games or Mobicore, with information on both. I’m hoping Microsoft delivers some cool extras for Vista Ultimate, as Extras provides opportunities not just to reward purchasers of such an expensive product, but to do some Mac OS-style bundling of some really high quality software.
Free poker with Vista!
I place my bets.
Seems a bit cheap to place a game in Ultimate Extras, doesn't it?
