You can use a quad core processor with Windows Vista Ultimate without violating the EULA, You can not use more than 2 physical processors, ie- 1 processor with 4 cores OK, 2 processors with 4 cores each OK, 4 processors with 1 core NOT OK.

Going to hold off on getting a intel one until i see AMD's offering. I hope you people dont mean what you say. If AMD goes bandrupt then there will be no competitor and intel would be free to halt new tech and raise prices as high as they want. Quad Cores, Dual Cores, they are all very well but still not a necessity at the moment. I will wait another year or so before upgrading when the dual cores will have dropped in price, cause unless you are lucky enough to have a Mobo able to take a dual core processor already - which i am not - then its an expensive upgrade with that and memory bundled in.
