  1. I guess my next upgrade will be a true Quad-Core CPU by AMD.

The demo looks nice on quad cpu and uber-dooper-double-wooper GPU, but what about those who can’t afford all that just to play the game and still have that same experience.

  2. I dunno so I’m asking, does a true Quad-core CPU and a 2 dual-core ones stuck together make any difference in performance?

Well, it’s hard to anwser it just like that. Search for quadcore yourself.

But to make it short. Intel glues 2 dual cores together and in the process having some issues with FSB and things like that. AMD however developes a multi-core technology where you don’t have to glue anything together.. so to say. Basically, AMD has it easier than Intel to step into the mutli-core era. Intel apparently is working on “true” quadcore cpu, so hopefully it will be a good year to see both battle eachother. 😀

  5. Intel is going to have a single die quad core CPU soon, anyway. It will be using the 45nm technology.

  6. I have a P4 3.4 and a nVidia 8800 GPU and did not see anything in the video that my PC would not be able to do. Quad Cores, Dual Cores, they are all very well but still not a necessity at the moment. I will wait another year or so before upgrading when the dual cores will have dropped in price, cause unless you are lucky enough to have a Mobo able to take a dual core processor already – which i am not – then its an expensive upgrade with that and memory bundled in.

  7. Ouch, my bad, you can install, but not using any more than 2 processors at one time.

Hope Microsoft’s lawyers can distinguish between CPUs and GPUs and PPUs and the processor in my wireless card.

  8. The game looks damn nice and quad cores coming out look to be great as well. Going to hold off on getting a intel one until i see AMD’s offering. I hope you people dont mean what you say. If AMD goes bandrupt then there will be no competitor and intel would be free to halt new tech and raise prices as high as they want.

  9. You can use a quad core processor with Windows Vista Ultimate without violating the EULA, You can not use more than 2 physical processors, ie- 1 processor with 4 cores OK, 2 processors with 4 cores each OK, 4 processors with 1 core NOT OK.

Who cares About whether it’s a “true” quad, every Intel Quad beats AMD bg time, numbers in reviews simply don’t lie!
