Windows Vista build 5721 screenshots

Here are screenshots of the internal Windows Vista build, 5721. These come from the RTM (release to manufacturing) branch and is newer than any build we have seen to-date.

All images has been removed by request.

Apart from a slightly brighter “Welcome Center” icon, (sadly) nothing has changed visibly. Could this be a bad sign that the user interface won’t be any more polished in RTM than RC1?

  1. Is it just my installation or does Vista still use the same system sounds as XP? That’s really poor if that’s the plan…takes the whole new UI experience down a notch.

Plus on startup, after the Boot Manager but before the UI loads, I still don’t get a pretty Vista logo, only the ever-moving progress bar and the MS copyright string and a big blank space in the centre of my screen… even XP had a nice Microsoft Windows XP logo there.

  2. @Sam: The system sounds and boot screen are going to be totally rehauled for the final Vista release.

  3. “Could this be a bad sign that the user interface won’t be any more polished in RTM than RC1?” Um, nope. It just shows that Microsoft is smart enough to know that employees leak what they get access to. lol…

  4. Expext the final build of vista to be vastly different to what you are seeing/using now. RC’s are there for stability/program testing.
